Who
did the artwork on this site? The short answer is, "I did!" However, the short
answer isn't entirely truthful. If you really want to know the truth, G-d made
the artwork, with only a little help from me. R h y

All of the images on this
site were created using two open access programs. The first, Apophysis, is a
fractal generator thingy with both random and nonrandom capabilities. I used the
random function for the most part, although I did modify colors in some cases.
Once I had a basic fractal image I liked, I used GIMP - an open access
equivalent to Photoshop - to enhance and manipulate the images and create
backgrounds.
I have viewed thousands of random images on Apophysis, and
some of them are breathtaking. Frankly, I find this disturbing. After all, one
argument for the existence of G-d is that the beauty in our world couldn't
possibly be random. It's too complex to have just happened on its own. Yet here
is beauty in random mathematics. What does it mean? That G-d is random? That G-d
is mathematics? That there is no G-d?
Maybe G-d is random and not
random. If that's the case - and even if it's not - it's just one more piece of
the Great Mystery.
Let's
put it into words.
